Ways to Give

You allow us to continue to build girls of courage, confidence and character – THANK YOU!

Your generosity enables our council to continue to make a difference in the lives of nearly 8,600 girls and 4,000 adult members annually. You can help us ensure that every girl in our region has in-depth, relevant programs and activities, have the ability to explore the outdoors and sell cookies, and make a difference in their neighborhood and the world.

You can make your gifts by clicking here; or call us at 1-800-666-2141; or print the DOWNLOADABLE PLEDGE FORM and mail it to us at Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons, Attn: Fund Development, 1101 S Marion Road, Sioux Falls, SD 57106.

Individual Giving

Gifts of Stock

Donating stocks and/or bonds provides you with the opportunity to make a substantial gift to our council, you may avoid capital gains taxes, and the ability to gift as a charitable tax donation.

As a donor, you will receive an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value. As you may not have capital gains taxes, this may be more beneficial to you than giving cash.

Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons will sell your securities and use the proceeds to benefit our council. Contact us for more information!

Family Partnership

Girl Scouting prepares girls of all ages to face challenges, make daily sound decisions and help the world become a better place. However, not all Girls have the same financial opportunities as the rest.

As part of the family of Girl Scouts, this is an opportunity for you to partner with the organization. Simply contribute on your annual membership application or through a direct donation to our council. With a gift of $35, you ensure that every girl can participate in Girl Scouting.

Planned Giving

Juliette Gordon Low Society

The Juliette Gordon Low Society recognizes individuals or businesses who make a planned or deferred gift to Girl Scouts–Dakota Horizons council, assuring that Girl Scouting will be available to future generations of girls.

In March 1912, Juliette Gordon Low gathered just a few girls to begin the Girl Scouts.  Since then, Girl Scouts has grown to be the preeminent leadership organization for girls, serving everywhere in the United States with over three million strong. From her leadership, compassion and own personal bequest, Girl Scouts created the Juliette Gordon Low Society to continue to empower girls to reach their fullest potential and make the world a better place.
