Wootton Memorial Camporee - Yankton, SD
Hosted by Dakota Territory Service Unit
Camporee was started in 2011 through a generous donation from Millie Wootton. Camporee allows us to utilize the Lewis and Clark Scout Camp and its many amenities to give girls the opportunity to try new experiences and practice skills in outdoor and high adventure activities while gaining more confidence in basic camping at the same time. Available activities fluctuate from year to year to give a variety of options to participants and may include archery, climbing and rappelling, rifle, first aid, hiking, obstacle course, geocaching, crafts and many other options.
Some activities offered require activity specific parent permission. Separate permissions for these activities will be emailed upon registration and MUST be completed and brought with you to participate.
*Participants will need to bring tents and appropriate camping gear. Limited indoor lodging is available for an additional fee on a first come, first serve basis by request. Whether tent camping or staying indoors, all GSUSA guidelines for sleeping arrangements will be adhered to so plan accordingly for adults and youth. Please refer any and all questions to contact persons below.
Important: Additional $5.00 per person fee for indoor lodging. Participants should eat dinner before arriving Friday evening. Dakota Dough accepted for registration fee; additional lodging fees must be paid for by cash or check. This is not a drop off event. Those attending as groups must provide adults to meet ratios.
