We are so excited to welcome your camper to camp this summer. As we
prepare for an incredible session together, we want to share an
important update to our camp policies.
After thoughtful consideration, we have moved to a managed cell
phone policy for middle and high school campers. This replaces our
previous no-phone rule. We made this change because we understand that
staying connected matters to today's girls, and to their families, and
we want camp to be a welcoming, accessible experience for every Girl Scout.
What Happens If the Policy Is Not Followed
We
ask that you review the policy with your camper before
arrival so she arrives understanding and ready to participate fully.
Violations of the usage guidelines, or failure to return a phone when
requested, will result in loss of phone privileges for the remainder
of the session. The phone will be held securely and returned to you at
check-out. You will be notified if this occurs.
Why We Still Believe in Unplugging
Camp is one of the few
places in a girl's life where she gets to step back from the constant
hum of notifications, comparisons, and online social pressures.
Research consistently shows that time away from screens — especially
social media — supports confidence, emotional resilience, and deeper
friendships. We protect that space intentionally, while still honoring
your camper's need to stay connected to the people she loves at home.
Reaching Your Camper in an Urgent or Sensitive
Situation
If you have an urgent need to reach your camper
outside of the evening phone window, please call the camp director's
number that will be provided to you prior to camp.
