Girl Scouts from Troop 54321 in Sioux Falls are giving back to children in hospitals as part of their Girl Scout Bronze Award project.
After noticing that kids in hospitals could use a positive distraction, the group of four set out to create activity kits filled with crafts, prizes, and fun games. They raised donations by sharing their goal on Facebook and reaching out to family and friends in their community.
Once the supplies were collected, the girls assembled the kits and sorted them by age group to ensure every child received something engaging. The completed kits were then delivered to the local children’s hospital to help bring smiles during hospital stays.
“A smile makes the world a better place,” said Girl Scout Amelia.
“I discovered that it feels good to help other people,” added Girl Scout Kennedy.
Through this project, the girls learned the power of service, teamwork, and making a difference in their community.
