Around 20 Girl Scouts explored the world of aviation during our Flight Club program at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport. This hands-on experience gave girls the chance to learn about the science of flight, get an up-close look at real airplanes, and discover the many career opportunities available in aviation.
Girls built rockets, flew kites, designed paper airplanes, and participated in activities that introduced them to concepts like motion, forces, and teamwork. They also toured the airport and learned more about how aviation works behind the scenes.
A special thank you goes to the team members from HDR, an engineering consulting firm in Sioux Falls, who volunteered their time to assist with activities and encourage girls throughout the event. Their support helped make the experience engaging and gave girls the opportunity to interact with professionals working in STEM fields.
We are grateful to the HDR team for giving their time to support Girl Scouts and help inspire girls to explore new interests, ask questions, and imagine themselves in future STEM careers!
