Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Madison Z. of Elgin, ND for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Madison earned her Gold Award by completing her Helping Hands Project. She built and installed a Helping Hands box in her town for this project. The box is stocked with essential dry items for people to grab as they need. Items include socks, tampons, floss, etc. Madison also set up a bank account for people to help fund the Helping Hands box. Those funds will be used to keep the box full of essential items.
Madison will receive her award at the council’s Honoring Excellence recognition event to be held on June 9, 2024.
