Girl Scouts from Troop 72804 from Piedmont, SD, were determined to give back in a meaningful way, so they chose to use their cookie proceeds to brighten the days of young patients at Monument Health Children’s Services. Wanting their donation to truly make a difference, the troop reached out to Monument staff to ask which items would best support children who are admitted or receiving care at the facility.
After Monument Health provided a list of comforting and helpful supplies, the Girl Scouts got to work. The troop shopped for the requested items and personally delivered them to the hospital. One Girl Scout Junior shared that she felt proud to support the kids and especially enjoyed handing the donations to the nurses who care for them each day.
Troop 72804’s thoughtful gift will help make hospital visits a little less stressful for young patients — a meaningful act of kindness made possible through their Girl Scout efforts and generosity.
