Girl Scouts from Troop 41204 from Sioux Falls, SD, recently had the unique opportunity to learn from the Tea Police Department during a special K9 demonstration. As part of their exploration of service animals and their roles in the community, the troop met Officer White and his K9 partner, Suni, who showcased how highly trained dogs assist in law enforcement.
The hands-on experience gave the girls a deeper understanding of how K9 teams support safety efforts and strengthen communities. Opportunities like this not only build knowledge but also create meaningful connections between Girl Scouts and local leaders.
Following their visit, Troop 41204 gave back in a sweet way through the Heroes on the Horizons program, donating a variety of Girl Scout Cookies to the department. Their thoughtful gesture was a meaningful way to say thank you and show appreciation for the work officers do every day.
Experiences like this highlight the power of community partnerships and the impact Girl Scouts can make through both learning and service.
