Girl Scouts Help Local Students Start the School Year Ready
As students across the community head back to school, 14 Girl Scouts from the Sioux Falls area wanted to make sure some of their fellow students had what they needed to start the year off right.
The troops set a goal of filling 30 backpacks. Working together, they more than doubled that goal, filling 82 backpacks with pencils, notebooks, markers, glue, folders, and other school supplies.
The backpacks were donated to Cleveland Elementary, Terry Redlin Elementary, and Hawthorne Elementary to help local students start the school year prepared and ready to learn.
Their project is a great example of Girl Scouts seeing a need, coming together to help, and making a bigger impact than they originally imagined.
