The Northern Hills Service Unit recently held its second annual Food Drive and Skate Night at the Spearfish Rec Center, bringing together community members for a fun evening in support of a great cause. Despite a slightly smaller turnout with close to 80 skaters attending, the event saw increased generosity with 175 food items collected and just over $575 in cash donations. All proceeds will benefit the Spearfish Food Pantry, with monetary contributions going toward the purchase of additional food.
Local Girl Scouts played a key role in the event’s success by setting up the rink, distributing and sanitizing skates, and helping with cleanup. Girl Scout Emily K. shared, “I had tons of fun and it felt good giving back to the community.”
Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make a positive impact in our community!
