Trefoil Traditions: Finding the Fun in Every Moment
This year’s Trefoil Traditions Mini-Resident Camp gave twenty-three Junior Girl Scouts the opportunity to spend three nights away from home while building confidence, learning new skills, and experiencing the magic of camp.
With the support of nine Counselors-in-Training (CIT) and Junior Counselors, campers made new friends and embraced every moment of their adventure. While the weather brought unexpected obstacles and last-minute changes, the girls showed flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude.
Throughout camp, Girl Scouts explored the outdoors and learned new skills through activities like cooking meals on camp stoves and in Dutch ovens, trying their hand at archery, completing a scavenger hunt at Storybook Land in Aberdeen, and creating macramé projects.
For Ambassador Girl Scout Emily M., who has spent five years as a CIT, one of the best parts of camp is watching girls gain confidence throughout their experience. “In the beginning, the girls are super nervous and don’t want to open up, but by the end, you can tell they love it. And I get to help them do that!” Emily said.
Rain or shine, Trefoil Traditions helped girls step outside their comfort zones, discover their independence, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
