An adventurous group of eight Girl Scouts and six adults boarded a plane and took off to visit the nation’s capital and the Big Apple. During this compact, five-day trip, the group learned about many historic landmarks and visited some of the biggest tourist attractions in the country.
First, they touched down in the land of freedom and history – starting the trip in Washinton, DC. The group took in a peaceful morning at the White House before heading over for a guided tour of the US Capitol. The Girl Scouts then had the opportunity to see the United States Supreme Court while in session. After a long day, the girls spent the evening doing a ghost tour – learning about the city’s history and legends. (Ghosts not included in the ticket price.)
After a busy and robust tour of Washington, DC, the group went north to the Big Apple. If you’ve ever been to New York City, you know there is a lot to see. These girls saw all the highlights in their short time there. They took a guided tour of downtown, taking in the Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and even took in the sights from the 86th floor of the Empire State Building. The following day, the group loaded on a ferry to visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. To close out the trip, the girls spent their last night on Broadway, taking in the popular show ‘Six.”
The girls couldn’t leave New York without visiting the Radio City Music Hall – they even had the opportunity to meet a Rockette! After that star encounter, the group snagged some New York-styled pizza and boarded the plane home.
