In Girl Scouting, the safety and well-being of girls is a top priority. On this page you'll find resources and forms you’ll need for keeping girls safe including health forms, Safety Activity Checkpoints, and Volunteer Policies and Procedures. These resources will help you understand your responsibilities as a volunteer.

Safety Activity Checkpoints (SAC)

Safety Activity Checkpoints (SAC) is a resource from Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA) that provides safety standards and guidelines for activities that are safe to do with your girls in Girl Scouts. Please review this resource before planning any activity with your girls. 

When Safety Activity Checkpoints indicate that council approval is required for an activity, a Request for Council Approval of Activity/Event Form must be submitted at least 30 days in advance. 

Girl Scouts Blue Book of Basic Documents

The Girl Scouts Blue Book of Basic Documents contains important information and source documents, including the Constitution of Girl Scouts of the United Sates of America (GSUSA), bylaws, policies, credentials critieria and standards for councils, our Congressional Charter and more. 

Volunteer Policies and Procedures

Volunteer Policies & Procedures are established by the council to:

  • Provide safe, high quality program experiences to girls.
  • Use the skills and eperiences of volunteers effectively.
  • Provide all volunteers the opportunity for participation, challenge, growth and advancement.
  • Create an environment of courtesey, respect and fairness for all volunteers.
