Thank you, volunteers, for all you are doing to prepare your girls for a great season!
Below are a few reminders:
Have questions about the fall product program or cookie program? Join us for open office hours with the Dakota Horizons team! Whether you’re a troop leader, caregiver, or service unit member, we’re here to answer your questions to help you get started and support you along the way. The next office hours will be held on January 18th from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. CST.
Do you know a Girl Scout volunteer who made a lasting impact in 2025? Recognize their dedication by submitting a nomination for an Adult Achievement Award.
From the Rising Star Award to the GSUSA Honor Pin, these awards celebrate volunteers whose service strengthens troops, supports girls, and enriches communities across our council.
Nominations are due February 1, 2026. Awards will be presented at Honoring Excellence on June 14, 2026, in Moorhead, MN.
View all the Adult Achievement Awards and complete a nomination form. Help us honor the volunteers who make Girl Scouting possible!
The deadline for submissions of Girl Scout Highest Awards and Girl Leadership Awards is February 1st for awards to be presented at Honoring Excellence on June 14, 2025.

We are excited to host the 2026 Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons' Annual Meeting virtually on April 21st. The President of the Board of Directors facilitates the annual meeting, during which delegates elect the Board of Directors and the Board Development Committee.
When delegates register to attend the Annual Meeting by February 21, 2026, they will be entered into a drawing to win Beats Solo Earbuds (4 winners) or an Apple iPad (2 winners).
Drawing will take place during the Annual Meeting. Adult or Girl delegates elected by their Service Units are eligible and must be present to win.
Do you have Cadettes working toward their Program Aide Award? The first step is completing a leadership training session. While GSDH offers a few opportunities for girls to attend training, service units are also encouraged to host their own sessions. Ready to get started? Use the Program Aide Volunteer Guide and Action Plan on our Leadership Awards page to plan your trainings today.
Ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Girl Scouts are heading to Australia and New Zealand next summer, and there is still time to join. Experience stunning landscapes, incredible wildlife, and unforgettable cultural moments while traveling with Girl Scouts.
Registration is open through January 31, 2026. Do not miss your chance to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour celebration of generosity that supports nonprofits across our region, including Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons. Volunteers can help make this day a success by sharing our social media posts, spreading the word with friends and family, and celebrating the impact Girl Scouts have in their communities. Every share, conversation, and act of support helps girls explore, learn, and grow. Check out our page on the Giving Hearts Day website.
