Have you connected with your service unit this year?
Service units are led by a team of volunteers who work in partnership with council staff to build a strong Girl Scout community. Service units have been busy this fall recruiting new Girl Scout members, holding meetings for volunteers, organizing fun events for girls, managing the fall product program, and preparing for the Cookie Program. They would love to see you at their next meeting or event! If you are not sure how to connect with your service unit please reach out to your Troop Engagement Specialist or Member Services.
Troop co-leaders and troop cookie managers: While our 2023 Cookie Program is still a bit away, it’s time to lay the groundwork for the girls’ success! Some of this groundwork includes Service Unit Troop Trainings and Parent/Girl Cookie Meetings.
You should be hearing from your Service Unit Cookie Manager about troop trainings to be held the week of January 2nd. This training will provide you with what you need (materials and information) to host your Parent/Girl Cookie Meetings. These Parent/Girl Cookie meetings are hosted by you as Troop Co-Leaders and should be held after your Service Unit Troop Training but before your troop’s Initial Order is due on January 19th (sometime between January 10th & January 17th is ideal).
Schedule and share the meeting date with your girls and caregivers as soon as possible to ensure participation. To guide the planning and hosting of your meetings, we have developed grade-level-specific Cookie Program Family Meeting Guides (under the Volunteer section) to help you engage girls and families in their Girl Scout Cookie Program experience.
