Our troop is full of girls who are first-year Daisies! We have been working hard on having them earn all of their petal badges together as a troop. On this particular meeting night, we worked on Gloria’s story Respect Myself and Others.
The girls did such a great job at naming ways they can respect themselves. They said things like brushing their teeth, washing their face, and telling themselves that they’re beautiful. We then worked on an emotions worksheet, which they did with flying colors identifying all the emotions.
After that, we made a thank you card for someone in their life that has impacted them by doing something for them. A lot of them chose their mom, but others chose friends and grandparents.
At the end, we challenged the girls to go home and while they were brushing their teeth to tell themselves three things they like about themselves. Overall, I think the girls enjoyed earning this petal. They had tons of fun and were very willing to participate!
