Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Aspen B. of Watertown, SD for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Aspen earned her Gold Award with her Codington County Heritage Museum Children’s Enrichment Project. For this project, she wanted to create more hands-on learning opportunities for children who visit the Codington County Heritage Museum. To accomplish this, she built a fun and entertaining booklet that children can use as they go through the museum. It’s full of interactive activities that spark their creativity. Aspen also added hands-on props that allow children to imagine how people used certain historic items.
Aspen will receive her award at the council’s Honoring Excellence recognition event to be held on June 9, 2024.
