Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Elena S. of New Salem, ND for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Elena earned her Gold Award by completing her Making Music Mural Project. After her school’s music practice room experienced vandalism, she took it upon herself to repaint the practice room. The new mural makes it a more inviting place for students to practice. Elena hopes the new design will inspire more students to take up band and use the new practice rooms.
Her accomplishments reflect leadership, citizenship, and foundational skills built through Girl Scouts. Elena will receive her award at the council’s Honoring Excellence recognition event to be held on June 9, 2024.
