Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Ellie Wagner of Yankton, SD for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Ellie earned her Gold Award with her Little Libraries Project. She was inspired by the take-a-book, leave-a-book little library model, but instead of books, she stocked hers with gardening and art supplies. She hopes this gives community members an outlet to express themselves and brings joy to those who use it. This project took more than 90 hours over five months to complete.
Her accomplishments reflect leadership, citizenship, and foundational skills built through Girl Scouts. Ellie will receive her award at the council’s Honoring Excellence recognition event to be held on June 9, 2024.
