Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Emily Neset of Dilworth, MN for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Emily earned her Gold Award with her Family Time Outdoors Project. Emily recognized a need for a family-friendly outdoor space in her community, so she decided to create one. Working with the city and volunteers, she was able to build a park. The park includes a large space for families to enjoy, trees, flowers, and plants. The space has already had a strong start with lots of use and continues to be frequented by community members.
Her accomplishments reflect leadership, citizenship, and foundational skills built through Girl Scouts. “Girl Scouts has helped me get to know the community and see things that need help fixing,” said Emily.
Emily will receive her award at the council’s Honoring Excellence recognition event to be held on June 10, 2023.
