Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Olivia Scott of Jamestown, ND for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Olivia earned her Gold Award with her No Excuses for School Project. For this, Olivia created a plan to address students not having the supplies they need to succeed in school. After coordinating with nearby school principals, she was able to install baskets filled with supplies (paper, pencils, folders, etc.) at each of the schools. These supplies are available to all students who might need them. Many of the supplies have had to be replenished, but thankfully, Olivia has a network of people checking on the baskets to make sure they are always full.
Olivia will receive her award at the council’s Honoring Excellence recognition event to be held on June 10, 2023.
