Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons congratulates Rachel Lorang of Hartford, SD for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award to be achieved in Girl Scouts.
Rachel earned her Gold Award with her Tail Wagging Fun For All Project by addressing the lack of safe space for dogs to run off-leash in her town. She got to work building a dog park for canines of all sizes to enjoy. Working closely with the city council and other city departments, she was able to bring her idea to life. The park has become a popular destination for dog owners and even a frequented rest stop for those passing through town.
Her accomplishments reflect leadership, citizenship, and foundational skills built through Girl Scouts.
