Dakota Horizons' CEO Marla Meyer joined Inside KELOLAND host Bridget Bennett to share an update on the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Since the middle of February, girls have been busy running their cookie businesses and setting bold goals for themselves.
"Whether a girl wants to sell 60 boxes or 4,000 boxes, and we have girls who sell everything in between, achieving that goal is really her accomplishment," Marla said.
When Girl Scouts sell a box of cookies, they're doing much more than what's seen at face value. While customers get a sweet treat, girls are entrepreneurial powerhouses. Every box of cookies sold provides invaluable experiences for Girl Scouts, such as service projects, troop travel, and summer camp.
"We consider it a building block of possibilities, each box is, each cookie is, so we're building the future cookie by cookie," Marla said.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program runs through March 25th.
