Young girls had the chance to dive into the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics on Saturday, October 5 at the Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons ‘Believe in Girls’ event.
Schools, businesses, clubs, and organizations from all over the Black Hills set up booths and activities to spark girls’ interest in STEM-related fields.
“There’s still a lack of women in STEM, which is why we reach out and bring all of these organizations together, and if you see all the women here, our girls just get amazed, like this could be me someday; I can do this; this is so much fun; there is somebody who looks like me,” said Adriane Cole, membership engagement manager for the South West District of the Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons.
