Girl Scouts recently had the opportunity to take a deep dive into the world of automotive maintenance at our Driven Women program, hosted in partnership with Southeast Technical College. This hands-on experience gave girls the chance to learn practical car care skills while also exploring exciting career paths in the automotive industry.
From learning how to check and change oil to replacing tires and understanding the basics of vehicle safety, participants rolled up their sleeves and got to work with real tools, real vehicles, and real professionals. They also had the chance to tour Southeast Tech’s state-of-the-art facilities and ask questions about training, education, and what it's like to work in a traditionally male-dominated field.
One highlight of the day? Girl Scout Madi took us behind the scenes with an insider’s look at the action, sharing her experience as girls learned to take charge of their own vehicle safety and independence.
Programs like Driven Women are part of the Girl Scout mission to help girls build courage, confidence, and character. By offering real-world learning opportunities, we empower girls to explore new interests, challenge gender norms, and envision a future where they can succeed in any field.
Thank you to Southeast Technical College for partnering with us to drive this impactful experience forward!
