The 2023 Cookie Program has been extended until April 3. We know many troops, especially those in North Dakota, have been battling extreme winter weather that has severely affected their ability to sell cookies. We want to give every Girl Scout the chance to sell their inventory and achieve their goals.
We know some troops may be ready to wrap up their cookie season, which is still an option! Troops that are ready to complete their End of Program Checklist can do so.
NOTE: Deciding to participate in the extension should be a troop decision, please confirm with your troop leader on whether your troop will continue to sell during the extension.
The Cookie Program isn’t the only thing getting extended this week. We are extending our RETAIL Sale for another week, too! Get 15% off all items in-store, online at Juliette’s Boutique, and by mail and phone now through March 25.
Dakota Horizons' retail services offer a variety of ways to shop for badges, uniforms, awards, gifts, specialty items, and more! Find the shopping option that best meets your needs at gsdakotahorizons.org/shop.
Join us for our next COO Town Hall with COO Stacy Stahl and the Mission Delivery Team on Tuesday, March 28 at 7 pm CST. The Mission Delivery Team will be sharing a spring update regarding membership, camp, and spring renewal. Register to attend.
The 2023 Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons Annual Meeting is on April 11, 2023. Elected Delegates and guests must register by March 26.
Be a changemaker! Starting April 1, girls and adults that renew their membership with Girl Scouts will qualify for some great incentives, including a Changemaker t-shirt, charm patch, BIG Event ticket, and more! Lifetime members also qualify when they renew a volunteer role.
To help us communicate with your troop throughout the Spring Renewal process, please fill out this Membership Check-in.
NOTE: All incentives will be mailed to a troop co-leader in August.
Summertime brings nothing but smiles and sunshine, so get an early start and register your troop to attend one of our Spring Into Summer Events!
Summer camps are open for registration! Talk with your Girl Scouts about attending camps together and register early to save your spot. Visit the website to learn more!
Wanting to take your Girl Scouts camping or on a trip, but not sure where to start? Join us on April 4 at 7pm CST to learn more about the Girl Scout travel progression, the different ways Girl Scouts are able to travel, and what needs to be done before doing any traveling. Register by March 28.
Increase your skills and be prepared for summer adventures by becoming First Aid/CPR/AED certified. The Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is a blended learning course and includes an online course and an instructor-led classroom skill session. Participants must complete both the online course and the in-person skills session. Spring courses are available for Adult Volunteers and Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Find the course near you and register right away!
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and it’s no secret that Girl Scouts would not be possible without troop leaders. You help Girl Scouts dream big. You encourage them to become changemakers, trailblazers, and explorers. You’re their role model and that is no small job!
We are going to celebrate our amazing volunteers all month long! Watch for fun social media giveaways and a special patch coming in the mail just for you!
Getting outside is for a girl's overall well-being and growth and it can be an amazing part of the Girl Scout experience. This module will introduce troop leaders to what they can do to begin sharing the outdoors with their troop.
Prepared leaders are confident leaders and online courses in gsLearn provide a convenient way for you to learn more about Girl Scouts. Login to MYGS and choose gsLearn to access this course and more!
We welcome you to take your troop camping, get away for a few days, plan a special event, or participate in a team-building experience at a GSDH Camp Property. Council schedules Girl Scout camps throughout the summer, but there are plenty of rental dates available for troops looking to book their next adventure. Camp properties are available for rent from May (depending on the weather) through September.
Getting to know the volunteers in your local service unit will make you feel connected to something special. Think of it as your own adult Girl Scout troop!
By engaging with your service unit, you will have the opportunity to:
