It was a picture-perfect Saturday morning as 20 Girl Scouts and their families gathered for an exciting, high-energy event—the Annual Savannah Cup Derby! Hosted at Matt’s Automotive Service Center in Fargo, ND, the day brought together creativity, engineering, and friendly competition..
Leading up to race day, girls had the option to build their cars at home or attend a hands-on workshop at the Girl Scout Service Center, where they learned design tips and construction techniques. Whether they were first-time builders or returning racers, the girls took charge of their projects—deciding on designs, customizing their cars, and bringing their vision to life.
The excitement revved up as the miniature racecars hit the track. The crowd cheered as each car zoomed toward the finish line. In addition to the thrill of the races, participants voted on special categories including Best in Class, Most Creative, and Funniest. The energy, sportsmanship, and pure joy were contagious.
More than just a race, the Savannah Cup is a celebration of imagination, determination, and hands-on learning. It’s a unique opportunity for girls to experience the thrill of competition, the satisfaction of building something from scratch, and the confidence that comes from trying something new.
A huge thank you to Matt’s Automotive Service Center for generously hosting this event. Your ongoing support helps make the Savannah Cup a memorable and meaningful experience for all involved.
We can’t wait to see what the next derby brings—until then, keep those wheels turning!
Thank you for supporting the Girl Scout Movement.
