Troop 40721 recently wrapped up their Outdoor Journey with a meaningful Take Action project in their community. To complete the journey, the girls designed, built, and installed a brand-new sign for their local park to replace the old, worn-out one.
This project gave the troop the chance to build new skills and confidence while making a lasting impact. They learned how to use a wood router, drills, and screws, improved their painting techniques, and even dug and set posts to secure the finished sign.
Volunteer Karen, who supported the troop throughout the project, shared:
“The girls were so excited to see all their hard work come together. They picked up new skills, worked as a team, and created something their whole community can enjoy. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
Thanks to their dedication, park visitors now have a colorful new sign to enjoy. Troop 40721’s project is a great example of how Girl Scouts combine hands-on learning with community service to make the world a better place!
