Adventure, history, and hands-on fun came together when Troop 80115 set out for a day at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in Mandan, North Dakota.
The troop began their journey at the historic Custer House, hiking through the old barracks and continuing all the way to the visitors center and the On-A-Slant Indian Village. Along the way, the girls learned about the area’s rich history while enjoying time outdoors together.
After a well-earned break, the girls retraced their steps and then hiked up to the blockhouses—climbing all the way to the top of each one that was open. The views from above were amazing, and the troop’s excitement could be felt in every photo.
To end their adventure on an unforgettable note, the girls met some friendly horses near the parking area. The owners kindly let the girls pet and even take turns riding the horses in a small circle—an unexpected highlight that made the day even more special.
From start to finish, Troop 80115’s outing to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park was a perfect mix of exploration, teamwork, and fun. Days like these remind us how Girl Scouts build confidence and curiosity through every new adventure.
