This week, Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons proudly celebrates Marla Meyer’s 10-year anniversary as Chief Executive Officer.
Under her leadership, Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons has introduced exciting new programs and initiatives designed to help girls explore their interests and develop real-world skills. From programs like Robotics and Citizen Scientist to the innovative Mobile STEM Center that brings hands-on learning directly to girls—no matter where they are—Marla has helped make STEM education accessible and inspiring.
She has also championed opportunities for girls to grow as entrepreneurs. The launch of online cookie sales through the Digital Cookie platform has empowered girls to connect with customers in new ways, while the expansion of Cookie University—now offered in six locations across the council—has helped Girl Scouts gain the confidence and tools to successfully run their own cookie businesses.
Marla’s leadership extends beyond Dakota Horizons as well. She serves on the Girl Scouts of the USA National Product Program Committee, where she helps guide the national strategy for the Girl Scout Cookie Program—including contributing to the creation of new cookie flavors that inspire excitement among girls and cookie fans everywhere.
