On a recent visit to Pierre, Mia, Development Manager for Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons, attended the SoDak SACA After-School Day at the South Dakota State Capitol. The event brought together organizations, community members, and legislators to highlight the impact of after-school and youth development programs across the state.
During the day, Mia connected with visitors and lawmakers to share how Girl Scouts empowers girls through hands-on leadership experiences, skill building, and confidence development. She highlighted the importance of programs like Girl Scouts in helping girls grow into capable, compassionate leaders who are prepared to make a difference in their communities.
Of course, no Girl Scout event would be complete without cookies. Attendees enjoyed sampling Girl Scout Cookies, which served as a fun and welcoming way to spark conversations and share the Girl Scout Mission.
